English Language Paraprofessional
Reports to: ESOL Coordinator/Principal

Length of Contract: 178
Primary Purpose:
Work under the supervision of the ESOL Coordinator who guides the English language lesson planning.
Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED
Pass the Praxis paraprofessional exam (minimum score - 457) or completion of a minimum of 60 college hours
Must complete all necessary background checks.
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Ability to work well with children
Effective organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
Patient and calm demeanor with students and others
Basic academic skills
Bilingual applicants encouraged
EL Paraprofessional whose responsibilities include the following:
- Working with English Language students whose Native Language is not English.
- Monitoring and assessing student progress.
- Assisting the ESOL Coordinator with Language Assessment Evaluations.
- Working as a liaison between families, teachers, and students.
- Working as an emergency contact for families.
- Attend professional development opportunities to learn and implement instructional best practices as assigned by ESOL Coordinator.
- All duties as assigned.
